22 Απριλίου - 20 Ιουνίου 2010

At the space of former Nees Morfes Gallery, the newly founded Contemporary Greek Art Institute presents the exhibition
"Kyrillos Sarris - George Hatzimichalis: CORRESPONDENCE 2007-2010"

Their first joint exhibition (landscapes) was held in 2004.
The current exhibition, is a conversation between the two artists; an exchange of thoughts, using images instead of words.
Images drawn from memory, everyday life and art, give to the works the power which they hold as a language. At a time where the over-use of images is blinding us,
the gaps, the recalls by association,
as well as the deviations of this correspondence-dialogue salvage the images from their inertia and with the new meaning
given to them, make them public property as a whole and cohesive work of art.

The CORRESPONDENCE follows the conventionality of letter-writing (post office, envelopes, stamps). It started in January 2007, contains 126 letters, and continues.
